Discussions

Memo re:  Business licenses – No comment.  Becky will draft Memo to Merry Marini.

Mr. Lindquist reminded the Commission of the joint Conservation/Open Space meeting on Monday, December 8, 2008 at 7 PM and encouraged all members to attend.

Mr. Clemons informed the Commission of information he received from UMass Extension regarding this year’s Keystone Training Project.  It is a free (sponsored by the Natural Resources Conservation Service), 3-day, intensive training course at the Harvard Forest in Petersham, MA.  The course will focus on forest ecology and stewardship, wildlife management, and land protection.  It is geared toward municipal officials that are making decisions that impact natural resources and that can deliver accurate information to landowners and organizations.  The

program takes place from 4/23/08 through 4/26/08 and the application deadline is 3/2/08.  Mr. Clemons strongly recommended that any and all of the Commissioners take advantage of this opportunity.
